Each and every year we try to give back to our community by donating a designated group of puppies for families to use as service dogs.
Something that is very close and dear to my heart is that my young son at 6 weeks was hospitalized with potential Meningitis. At the tender age of 1 he was again rushed to the hospital as he had Neisseria Mengingitidis type B. No thank you to Autoimmune Disease.
During this lengthy stay we were told he had a low chance of survival. Not only did he do better than any of his infectious disease team could have hoped for, he has rocked his recovery since. As suspected his brain and heart were injured, along with his hearing. He has permanent hearing loss and the infection came out through his ankle resulting in
Audiologists, Cardiologists, Neurology Team, Developmental Teams, Immunologists, Urologists, Orthopedic specialists and the list goes on.
He is a fighter and today to meet him you would almost not know any of his years of healing.
Service Dogs of Canada was closed to all applicants other than Autism and for years we were at a loss. Finally we made the decision to keep back one of our own puppies and to send her away for appropriate training.
For this reason we now know how valuable a Service dog can be.

We currently have 5 spaces still available on our hope list for 2026. Please note while we do donate the puppy we will charge a $400.00 plus HST consultation fee.
While we appreciate all those that apply with us we are not always able to help all families that inquire. Please also note that even in the Guide Dog world not all dogs in the program graduate to become Guide Dogs. Similar to this not all Service Dogs graduate either. We welcome for your trainer to contact us and to come and meet the puppies to temperament test the litter, helping select the best choice for training..
